Collection Development
Created in the Fall of 2019 for the FMD 447 Collection class, my collection Earthly Wonder is a semi formal dress collection made with inspirations taken from the knit multi-colored fabric and nature that inspired the flowing silhouettes. The knit fabric was donated to me from my internship when it was shipped to one of my coworkers in bulk and she had no need of it and heard that I would be making a collection when I returned to school in the fall. Thank you Courtney!
All 4 garments were created with a size 16 mannequin in mind as though that size is consider "plus" it is close to average sizing and I wanted to encourage more "average" sized ladies to model in the upcoming fashion show in the spring.
The development of my final collection for my senior year was meant to be featured in the Spring 2020 fashion show Threads at Central Michigan University. With Covid-19 shutting down everything however, that did not happen. I am still very proud of this collection and the work the producers put into the show before it had to be cancelled for all of our safety.
